Woodland Faerie Trail at The Valley House
The Valley House woodland Faerie Trail - come explore this stunning woodland walk with Irish folk tales, faerie villages, faerie rings, leprechauns and much more. The Faerie Trail is open from 10am until dark (Open All Year, 7 Days a Week!) and costs €2 per person.

Acla - Traditional Irish Music Festival
Scoil Acla is a week-long music and arts festival comprising
of classes in Traditional Irish Music, Achill Irish language (Gaelig’
Acla), and Sean-Nós singing plus workshops in Traditional Irish
Dancing and the ever popular and well attended Creative Writing. The Traditional
Basket Weaving instruction has proven to be one of the more popular courses.

Launch and reading of the book The Veiled Woman of Achill
by Patricia Bryne (Collins Press, 2012).
Adrian Frazier of NUI Galway will introduce the book and its author, Patricia
Bryne. Includes readings from this newly published book. The events in
the book detail the history of The Valley House's 19th Century landlady,
Agnes McDonnell and the attack on her and her estate by her land agent

Patricia Byrne is a Mayo born writer living
in Limerick. She is a graduate of the MA (Writing) programme of NUI Galway
poetry, fiction and nonfiction. Her interest in the Valley House story
arose out of family history; her great granduncle, Brother Paul Carney,
served as a Franciscan monk in Achill in the late nineteenth century and
wrote extensive journals, including a narrative of the life of James Lynchehaun.

Headline Act: Danny Dowling - This Galway based New Zealand comic has
been tearing rooms apart with his version of life in Ireland and a GAA
fan that you won't forget. Winner of Come Dine With Me Ireland with the
highest score in the series mainly due to 250 custard pies. Creator of
The Mad Hatters Tea Party with back to back sell out shows, host of Comedy
Comedy in the Roisin Dubh and Campbell's Tavern Comedy. Danny has supported
Tommy Tiernan, The Rubberbandits and toured with Glenn Wool.

19th/20th: Theatre at The Valley House
- "Dublin by Lamplight" a play directed by Gorretti
Slavin, performed by "In the Club" Theatre Productions. A hugely
entertaining melodrama written by Michael West and structured on James
Joyce’s Ulysses. The tale covers the doings of an eventful day in
1904, as a group of theatre enthusiasts struggle to create an Irish national
theatre in a city swarming with cops, crooks, and soldiery, while the
King of England makes a royal visit.
Performances on Friday 19th at 8pm and Saturday 20th at 8pm.
